Now that the beast has been given I can show off pictures of it.

The pattern is Buckeye Beauty.  It is a wonderful and easy pattern to put together and I loved that I didn’t have to do any finicky triangle piecing.  I’ve never done the “tube” triangles before but I must admit that I’m a fan now! I used the Hoffman Bali Pop (2 & change of them) for the strips and a brown batik for the background.

It took me a solid month of solid sewing, pressing and pinning but it was all worth it. I will also say that king size quits are not to be taken on lightly.  I just have to buy the backing and find someone to quilt it and I’ll be all set!  With that here are more pics:
